How can we get captions up? with names. I see John Dennis in the prefabs behind the Villa Formose. And is that you, Skip, with the dark glasses? Is that Leslie Gerson sitting on the edge of the goufre (foreground)? And what was our Russian (?) assistant director's name? It's on the tip of my tongue. Didn't he come over with a young daughter? I'll have to get busy scanning my slides!
I remembered the "...sky" but couldn't remember the beginning. Are the prefabs still there? I can't remember. I enjoy driving by and remembering times past (the Villa Formose still looks the same), but never think to look behind. Too bad they took out the little signs out front along the Route de Tarbes. Remember the one that said "Si Paris vaut une messe, Pau vaut une visite" ? I know I have a photo of that somewhere.
I think his name was Professor Lasky. The red head walking next to Jean Pierre is Pat Shaw. It's so odd. I just don't remember those buildings at all! Elyse
I don't remember them (the prefabs) either. We'll have to check those out Anna Kay. I also have fond memories when I drive by-- but I'm not down there very often. I do remember the Pau "visite"sign on the road to Gan. Maybe we should ask the Mairie to put one up again. I saw a photo of Nicole Bensoussan in the newspaper-- she is a municipal counselor (conseillère municipale)and I think, an adjointe au Maire. Remember her? She was one of our teachers at the Villa Formose.
YES! Bensoussan. Didn't we have one named Bentata (or something like that) too? I remember that we had our classes in the prefabs (and the UC EAP secretary was housed there). The administrative offices of the Fac de Lettres must have been in the "Villa". What a tiny "fac" it was then. Can you identify anybody in the group picture?
I've found a few names, but am not quite sure of the numbers for example: N°2 : Kathleen Cornell,N° 7 Ethel Balber; N° 6: I think is Michael Halpern; n° 63 is Maggie-- not sure if last name is Wilson or if it's one of the other Margarets; n° 64 is Jane (I think) Harkness; n° 37 is Helene Neu; n° 55 is Skip and n° 67 is Scott. How's that for a starter? The more I look the more first names come back to me. But I've got to get back to my correcting-- fini le beau temps où je pouvais rester longtemps sur l'ordi!
You're wonderful, Linda! You can go directly into the post, since you're already a "contributor". I just sent back my last job so have a little more free time until another comes in.
